Get Involved

Pediatricians

Join our efforts--we need you! A chapter is only as effective as its members and we have been blessed to have some tremendous leadership from our membership. However, we have a lot of work to do and we can't do it without you. Please consider a role within the New Mexico Pediatric Society. We have openings on committees both local and nationally within the AAP. If you only have a small amount of time available, we have opportunities for you as well.

You must be a member of the New Mexico Pediatric Society to serve within our chapter (find out how to join here). You do not have to be a member of the AAP unless you are serving in a national role.

Please email us at executivedirector@nmaap.org to volunteer.

Students & Residents

If you are a medical student or pediatric resident, we would love to talk to you!

Pediatrics is a calling that not everyone in the medical community answers and we know how challenging pediatric practice can be in the state of New Mexico.

Let us help you navigate the hurdles of residency with our CATCH grants, our mentorships, and our post-residency job assistance. We've been there, we know how hard it can be to get started.

For more information, please email us at executivedirector@nmaap.org.

Parents & Caregivers

Parents and caregivers are the most important people in the life of a child. We know that you have questions about your child's development, health, and overall well-being. We want to be your trusted source of information when it comes to your child's health.

We encourage you to talk to your child's pediatrician about any issues or questions you have.

We also encourage you to sign up for health updates from the American Academy of Pediatrics Healthy Children at www.healthychildren.org.

Finally, we post helpful information about issues affecting kids in our state on the resources page, so check back regularly for updates.
